Sebelum masuk ke jawaban atas komentar dan pertanyaan tersebut, saya akan sedikit menjelaskan tentang roaster.

Roster adalah salah satu elemen dalam bangunan yang mempunyai fungsi utama sebagai pintu masuk dan keluarnya udara. Pada bangunan-bangunan lama, roster benar-benar digunakan sesuai fungsi utamanya tersebut. Namun saat ini, roster juga digunakan sebagai elemen estetika, sehingga bentuk dan penataannya pun sangat beragam.

Dalam hubungannya dengan aliran udara, tentu tujuan digunakannya roster adalah terciptanya aliran udara didalam bangunan, sehingga dapat membuat ruangan menjadi tidak pengap, menjadi lebih sejuk, dan menjadi lebih sehat. Namun demikian, kemudian muncul pertanyaan, jika roster ini berlubang, artinya memungkinkan benda lain masuk ke dalam bangunan juga, seperti debu dan serangga.

Yang bisa dilakukan untuk menghindari nyamuk adalah menghilangkan habitatnya. Kita cari tau dimana nyamuk berkembang biak, dimana biasanya dia hinggap, ruangan bagaimana yang disukai. Nyamuk berkembang biak di air, terlebih air yang tergenang. Meminimalisir hal tersebut tentu dapat mengurangi populasi nyamuk. Lalu, bagaimana jika masalah tersebut datang dari tetangga atau lingkungan?

Buat almari tertutup untuk pakaian, cuci secara rutin korden dan kain-kain lainnya. Maka nyamuk tidak ada kesempatan untuk bisa hinggap.

Ternyata ada lagi yang disukai nyamuk. Yaitu tempat-tempat lembab dan gelap. Untuk itu, usahakan agar seluruh ruangan cukup cahaya dan aliran udara sehingga tidak lembab dan gelap. Berikan bukaan dan warna yang cerah pada setiap ruangan. Hal ini juga bisa meminimalisir keberadaan nyamuk.

Sebenarnya, untuk meminimalisir debu, yang paling dekat bisa dilakukan adalah mengurangi lingkungan rumah agar tidak menghasilkan debu. Halaman lapang, diusahakan terdapat vegetasi. Atau bisa juga menggunakan penutup lantai lahan seperti pavingblock atau grassblock untuk penyerapan air yang baik.

Jika debu berasal dari luar rumah, maka hal ini adalah yang paling sulit untuk ditanggulangi. Maka yang paling praktis adalah PINDAH RUMAH…haha.

Semua yang kita inginkan pasti membutuhkan pengorbanan. Kita ingin dingin, harus rogoh kantong untuk beli AC. Namun, karena tidak membayar listrik, ada harga lain yang harus dibayar, yaitu masuknya debu atau nyamuk. Jika tidak ingin diganggu nyamuk, bisa mengkondisikan rumah agar tidak ada nyamuk. Jika hal tersebut tidak bisa dilakukan, ya artinya ada harga lain yang harus dibayar yaitu PINDAH RUMAH…hehe
